A well-drained bottomland hardwood forest on a high terrace well removed from the Nottoway River in Sussex County.  Swamp chestnut oak (Quercus michauxii) and cherrybark oak (Quercus pagoda) co-dominate, with switch cane (Arundinaria tecta) abundant in the understory.  Chub Sandhill State Natural Area Preserve. © DCR-DNH, Gary P.
