A fairly mature, but even-aged stand of loblolly pine (Pinus taeda) on a dune flat by Custis Pond at Savage Neck Dunes State Natural Area Preserve in Northampton County.  This stand may have regenerated on a field abandoned many decades ago, or after a timber harvest. © DCR-DNH, Gary P. Fleming
