If you love working outdoors and meeting new and interesting people, you won’t want to miss our annual Volunteer Kickoff at Powhatan State Park! This year’s kickoff features a hands-on conservation project: planting native tree and shrub species to help establish a new wildlife corridor within the park. Whether you’re ready to grab a shovel or simply want to learn more about volunteering, this event is the perfect place to start.

Join us to:
- Talk with park staff and current volunteers about ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Meet members of the Friends of Powhatan State Park and learn how they support the park and how you can, too.
- Discover the perks and benefits of the Virginia State Parks Volunteer Program.
- Explore a wide range of volunteer opportunities for all interests and experience levels.

Optional Volunteer Projects:
Attendees are invited to participate in the native tree and shrub planting. All tools and materials will be provided.
