في شهر يونيو من كل عام، تشارك متنزهات ولاية فرجينيا في يوم تنظيف الخليج الذي تنظمه مؤسسة خليج تشيسابيك في شهر يونيو من كل عام، وهو حدث مخصص لحماية مستجمعات مياه خليج تشيسابيك والحفاظ عليها. زوار المتنزه مدعوون للانضمام إلى حملة تنظيف للمساعدة في إزالة القمامة والحطام والتلوث من الأنهار والجداول والشواطئ التي تصب في الخليج، مما يساهم في صحة النظام البيئي للخليج ويضمن مياه أنظف وموائل أكثر أمانًا للحياة البرية.
